Today is the big day! The iPhone Dev team will be releasing the yellowsn0w unlock. I can’t wait to try out yellowsn0w. It would be interesting to see how yellowsn0w turns out. yellowsn0w is basically an unlock for the iPhone 3G and it will allow you to unlock your iPhone 3G to the 2.2 firmware. The yellowsn0w 3G unlock is a really awesome tool and many iPhone 3G users will be enjoying it today. I can’t wait to try it out. I think it’s being released around midnight or earlier as MuscleNerd stated in a comment that he has New Years Eve plans too and he’s trying to release it as early as possible. I will let you know how you can download yellowsn0w, install yellow sn0w in my next post.
Here is a yellowsn0w video:

Hey guys, I’m going to get everything setup and make sure everything is setup. Alright guys this is it this is MuscleNerd part of the iPhone Dev Team. I’m going to show you the world’s first iPhone 3G unlock codenamed yellowsn0w. I’m going to try to make it short and sweet. It’s legitimately subscribed to AT&T and doesn’t need an unlock. I’m going to pull out my AT&T sim and try to do this on camera so you know this is real. Here is my TMobile sim and lets pop that in the tray because this phone is simlocked and I go to settings -> general -> about you’ll see that the network is not registering. If I try to make a call you can see that it can’t go through. I just went into the terminal and I just logged into the iPhone. You won’t have to do this by hand our yellowsn0w Cydia package will do this for you. Right now it’s probing. Now sit here and watch and you should see the network bars come on. Now you can see the TMobile bars and the Edge status. There is the network TMobile in the about section.

I don’t have an AT&T sim, I’m using an international sim as I am visiting jamaica. I’m on firmware 2.1 iphone 3g using a turbo sim…. how will this method work for me? my basebands 02.11.07. Should I use itunes to upgrade to 2.2 then quickpwn it? A reply to my mail add would be much appreciated. thanks
