In April 21, 1820 Hans Christian Ørsted created an experiment that surprised him. It took him three months until he discovered what his experiment had revealed to him. He found that electric current produces a magnetic field as it flows through a wire. Hans Christian Ørsted’s discovery represented a major step towards the concept of energy.

Hans Christian Ørsted was not only a scientist but he was also a poet. He wrote Luftskibet which was inspired by another physicist Etienne-Gaspard Robert.
