Cydia appears to be crashing for a lot of jailbroken users at the moment. A fix for it is available at the fix cydia crashing on jailbreak iPod touch and iPhone post. That worked when I tried it. Today Geohot finally revealed what he’s been working on for the past week: an iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS unlock. He is naming it blacksn0w, and it will be released on November 4. The blacksn0w software uses the AT+XEMN exploit that Oranav discovered and sent to the iPhone Dev Team earlier, but they did not think it would be able to unlock.

Geohot has proven everyone wrong. He has worked hard and created an unlock for iPhone 3G and iPphone 3G users. This is not an easy task! I’m pretty sure Apple must not be happy with this guy right now, but most of the iPhone community is. The blacksn0w unlock will be available through blackra1n once it’s released.

Apple has released the Mac OS X 10.5.8 download to Mac users. Mac uses can simply update by clicking the Apple logo and clicking Software Update. The Software Updates Application will check for updates and notify you of the new OS X 10.5.8 update. The update is 165 MB and you’ll need to restart your Mac after installing it.
